Role Summary
The SAP Technical Development Lead is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the architectural
integrity, quality, and delivery of SAP solutions. You will lead a high-performing development team, ensuring
technical objects are optimized for SAP HANA performance while adhering to Clean Core principles.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in SAP Workflow, Fiori, and S/4HANA stack development (CDS,
AMDP, RAP), while maintaining delivery excellence, technical governance, and team development.
Technical “Must-Haves” (Core Stack)
• SAP Workflow: End-to-end design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex business
process workflows
• HANA-Centric Development: Advanced expertise in CDS Views and AMDP for code-to-data
pushdown
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS): Mastery of OO-ABAP for scalable, reusable, and
maintainable solutions
• SAP Fiori / UI5: Development, extension, and deployment of Fiori applications and Launchpad
integration
• Modern ABAP: Proficiency in RAP, OData (v2/v4), HANA SQL Script, BRF+
• WRICEF Development: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms (Adobe /
Smart Forms)
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Governance
• Lead the technical design and architecture of complex SAP solutions and WRICEF objects
• Ensure alignment with SAP Best Practices, Clean Core standards, and S/4HANA extensibility
guidelines
• Define and enforce development standards, coding conventions, and performance benchmarks
• Conduct peer code reviews focused on OO design, HANA optimization, and security
• Own the technical delivery lifecycle including estimation, planning, build, deployment, and hyper
care.
2. Team Leadership, Mentorship & Performance Management
• Lead, manage, and mentor SAP ABAP/Fiori/BTP developers, fostering a collaborative, high-
performance environment
• Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to technical standards, and provide hands-on guidance
• Set team vision, objectives, and measurable goals, ensuring alignment with project priorities
• Monitor performance, provide constructive feedback, and support employee growth and skill
development
3. Process Automation & Integration
• Serve as the technical lead for SAP Workflow and automation initiatives across SD, MM, FI, and
PP
• Oversee design and development of OData services and API-based integrations
• Ensure secure, scalable integration patterns for S/4HANA across the enterprise
4. Project Management & Delivery
• Manage ABAP project delivery and enhancements, ensuring on-time, in-scope, and high-quality
completion
• Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively
• Partner with Functional Consultants and Solution Architects to translate business requirements into
robust solutions
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for complex issues
• Functional Process Expertise (SD, MM, FI, PP)
• SD (Sales & Distribution): Order-to-cash process including sales order processing, pricing, billing,
credit management, and delivery scheduling
• MM (Materials Management): Procure-to-pay processes including purchase requisitions, purchase
orders, goods receipts, inventory management, and invoice verification
• FI (Finance & Controlling): Core finance processes including GL, AR, AP, asset accounting, cost
center, and profit center reporting; ensure integration with SD and MM
• PP (Production Planning): Plan-to-produce processes including demand planning, production
orders, capacity planning, MRP, and shop floor execution
• Collaborate with functional consultants to ensure technical solutions align with business process
requirements and optimize automation and efficiency
